1. What is ETH staking?

Ethereum is a blockchain network that enables smart contracts and decentralized applications (dApps) through its decentralized virtual machine. Its native token is ETH. By staking ETH tokens and delegating them to validators on the Ethereum network, you can receive equivalent BETH and earn daily BETH rewards.

2. How do I participate in ETH Staking?

You can refer to this article to learn more about how to do ETH staking.

3. What is BETH?

BETH is a liquid staking token on OKX that represents your staked ETH. When you stake ETH, you participate in Ethereum’s Proof-of-Stake (PoS) network and receive BETH at a 1:1 ratio, letting you earn staking rewards while maintaining liquidity for trading.

You can trade BETH in the spot trading market with BETH/USDT and BETH/ETH pairs, and use it as collateral for loans and other trading products.

ETH staking also provides daily rewards and flexible redemption options.

4. Are there any staking limits?

The minimum staking amount is 0.001 ETH, and there’s no upper limit.

5. How are my BETH rewards calculated?

Rewards depend on the amount of BETH you hold. We take hourly snapshots of your BETH holdings to calculate your rewards.

BETH rewards = (BETH holdings per hourly snapshot − Outflow) × Daily APR / 365

Note: Outflow refers to BETH leaving your account, including withdrawals to X Layer as xBETH and transfers. Outflow is deducted from reward calculations to keep rewards fair and to ensure the same BETH is not counted more than once across different accounts or networks.

Your xBETH will keep earning staking rewards on-chain after you withdraw it, and those rewards will be reflected in the conversion rate when you deposit it back to the exchange.

6. How are rewards distributed?

Your BETH rewards will be distributed to your funding account daily at 3:00 UTC.

7. Can I withdraw BETH on OKX?

In jurisdictions where withdrawal to X Layer is available, you can:

  • Withdraw BETH to X Layer as xBETH, an onchain staked xAsset.

Note: Your staking rewards will continue to accrue onchain, and your earnings are reflected in the conversion rate. You’ll receive these earnings when you deposit xBETH, which will be converted back to BETH.

Aside from withdrawal, you can use your BETH in the following ways:

  • Spot trade BETH/USDT and BETH/ETH.

  • Use BETH as collateral for loans and trading.

  • Use BETH as campaign entry to earn airdrop rewards.

8. Can I use BETH as collateral?

Yes, you can use BETH as collateral for Margin and Loan products while continuing to earn staking rewards.

9. How long does standard redemption take?

While you can request a redemption at any time, standard redemption is determined by withdrawal demand on the network at the time of redemption. It can change without prior notice and is not controlled by OKX. However, once your redemption order is submitted, the period is fixed for that redemption.

Note that once you submit a redemption request, your BETH is locked and will no longer earn rewards.

10. What is fast redemption?

As onchain redemption periods may be long, we offer fast redemption to shorten the waiting time and let you receive your funds gradually.

After you submit your redemption order, you’re eligible to receive part of your redemption every day. However, this is subject a daily limit, that’s the lower of either:

  • a fixed individual limit of {100} BETH, or

  • a variable platform limit

You daily individual redemption limit is based on your account tier.
Regular user: 5 BETH
VIP 1: up to 30 BETH
VIP 2: up to 50 BETH
VIP 3 and above: up to 100 BETH

If there’s already a redemption queue, it may take some time before your start receiving your funds.

At the end of the onchain redemption period, you’ll receive any outstanding amount all at once.

11. Does OKX charge any fees?

We charge a 5% service fee, which includes gas fees. The listed APR already includes this fee.
